NAD+ Therapy
Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Buena Park and Cupertino, CA
NAD+ therapy is a way to improve metabolic functions by reintroducing NAD+ in the body. NAD+, which is short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a natural coenzyme found in the body. It helps the body carry out various mechanisms more efficiently. When NAD+ levels decrease, whether because of age or other reasons, patients may see negative manifestations in their health and vitality. Reintroducing NAD+ with subcutaneous injections may have several health and wellness benefits for patients, such as improved cognitive function, improved sleep, and an overall enhanced ability to fight age-related issues. About NAD+
NAD+ is a crucial molecule found in every living cell. It plays an essential role in how our bodies produce energy. As we age, the natural levels of NAD+ that the body sustains can begin to decline. (1) Research links this reduction of NAD+ to the occurrence of neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. The loss of NAD+ is especially associated with the onset of age-related issues. Some diseases that have been associated with age and the loss of NAD+ include plaque buildup in the arteries, arthritis, high blood pressure, cognitive decline, diabetes, and cancer. (1) With subcutaneous injections, we can help replenish the levels of NAD+ in the body to help combat these health challenges.
Benefits
NAD+ and Metabolism
NAD+ is an integral component of metabolism. Metabolism is how the body converts food into energy–healthy metabolism relates not only to digestive health, but also plays a part in temperature regulation, cognition, and strength. On a cellular level, replenishing NAD+ can make metabolic processes more efficient and may lead to an increase in mitochondrial functioning, which results in more effective energy production. (2) NAD+ also has the ability to protect against oxidative stress, which can result in damaged cells that are more vulnerable to disease. (1)
NAD+ and DNA Repair for Anti-Aging
NAD+ addresses unwanted occurrences such as DNA repair failure, which can make a person more susceptible to premature aging and certain diseases. DNA repair failure can also lead to genomic instability, which is often associated with irregular cell division, which comes with its own host of problems. NAD+ can also regulate inflammaging, which is a process that can also lead to cell damage.
NAD+ and Organ Function
With NAD+ therapy, you can optimize the benefits of improved tissue and organ function. Important bodily tissues and organs like fat, muscle, intestines, kidneys, and the liver, are all metabolic in nature and require optimal NAD+ levels to reach their full working potential. NAD+ therapy can strengthen your protection from cognitive decline, improve your metabolic health, and reduce potentially harmful inflammation. With its combined mental and physical benefits, NAD+ therapy can help patients become more active and improve their health longevity. (1)
NAD+ and a Healthy Lifestyle
Reinstating optimal NAD+ levels may improve or reduce the prevalence of age-related issues, improving long-term health and wellness. This makes NAD+ an effective anti-aging therapy. You can experience improved muscle functioning and enhanced endurance, thanks to the increased presence of muscle stem cells that NAD+ can encourage. (2)
Candidates
If you have not been feeling your best self recently, or if you are looking for a way to boost your health, you may be a good candidate for NAD+ therapy. Other candidates for NAD+ therapy may include:
- Individuals experiencing chronic fatigue or low energy
- Those wishing to improve cognitive function or alertness
- People seeking anti-aging treatments
- Anyone looking to enhance their overall metabolic health and well-being
We may not recommend NAD+ injections to patients who:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have sensitivity or allergies related to NAD+ injection or supplemental pills
- Have cancer or have had cancer in the past
- Take certain medications that impact or are impacted negatively by NAD+ therapy
It is important to first attend a personal consultation where we can help you determine if you are a viable candidate for NAD+ therapy.
Personal Consultation
A personal consultation at 17Medspa will allow you to engage with trained professionals experienced in administering NAD+ therapy. During this session, your wellness professional will thoroughly assess your medical history. They will also encourage you to share your wellness goals and how they relate to NAD+ therapy.
Your 17Medspa professional will review your lifestyle factors, current medications, and health conditions to determine if NAD+ therapy is suitable for you. This walkthrough will provide you with the opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have about the treatment.

NAD+ Therapy Process
NAD+ therapy consists of a straightforward and non-surgical process that your wellness professional can carry out in our comfortable office setting. Or, if you prefer, the subcutaneous injection method also makes it easier for you to administer the treatment yourself in the comfort of your own home!
Patients are advised to take the syringes home and administer NAD+ themselves, as injection frequency is mostly every other day or 2-3 times a week. If you wish to come into the office, we can schedule these frequent visits, but almost all clients inject themselves at home.
Not only is the subcutaneous injection method more accessible, but it is also safer than IV infusion therapy. With this method, you can avoid some of the starter side effects that are more common with IV infusion of NAD+, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and migraines–all the while still enjoying the same benefits.
Your NAD+ therapy process will only require that you cleanse the injection site–typically the arm–prior to injection. Then, administer the amount of NAD+ designated for you by your professional. Your professional will walk you through this process during your consultation. After the injection, you can resume normal activities right away!
In addition to NAD+ injections, your 17Medspa professional may recommend lifestyle changes that support NAD+ levels in the body. These may include exercising regularly, participating in a healthy and balanced diet, and getting good sleep. A diet that is too high in fats can further deplete your NAD+ levels, and so can irregular sleep patterns. (1) Therefore, lifestyle changes are essential for optimal results.
Results
After receiving NAD+ therapy, patients can expect to experience enhanced energy levels, improved cognitive function, and an overall improved sense of well-being. For best results, we often recommend scheduling NAD+ therapy once a week for 4 weeks, and then less often after that. Based on your wellness goals, your wellness professional will provide you with helpful information about recurrent treatments after the initial 4-week phase. Consistent therapy can contribute to long-lasting benefits related to metabolic health, neuroprotection, and general vitality.

FAQ
What is NAD+ and why is it important?
NAD+ is an essential coenzyme that facilitates key biochemical reactions in your body, particularly those related to energy production and regenerative processes. As you age, NAD+ levels decline, contributing to various age-related issues.
What is NAD+ therapy used for?
NAD+ therapy is used for enhancing energy levels, cognitive function, neuroprotection, metabolic health, and more. You may want to consider NAD+ therapy if you are feeling worn down and generally unwell. Consistent treatment can combat the NAD+ depletion that can occur as a result of the natural processes of aging.
How long does a NAD+ therapy session take?
