About JUVÉDERM® Volux®
JUVÉDERM® Volux® is an injectable designed to help diminish the appearance of wrinkles and replenish facial volume. Whether you would like to define contours or diminish signs of aging, JUVÉDERM® Volux® can provide volume without invasive surgery. JUVÉDERM® is formulated with Vycross® technology–a combination of low and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HA) that creates a cross-linked gel-like formula. HA is a naturally occurring substance that helps your skin maintain its moisture and plump appearance. Approximately 50% of the hyaluronic acid in your body is located in your skin. (1)
JUVÉDERM® Volux®’s unique formula helps the injectable distribute itself evenly to ensure natural-looking enhancements. Its cross-linked structure also prolongs the filler’s effects, meaning it lasts longer than other formulas.
JUVÉDERM® vs. Collagen Injections
Collagen injections contain tiny particles that increase your skin’s collagen levels, and they also have a plumping effect to add volume while your collagen builds. Collagen injections typically contain poly-d,l-lactic (PDLLA) acid particles. These are tiny microspheres that raise your skin’s collagen levels. Collagen injections can address volume loss and increase your skin’s elasticity for a more youthful-looking appearance and beautiful results. (2) During your consultation, we will examine your skin to determine the most effective treatment plan for your aesthetic goals.
Benefits
There are several benefits to receiving JUVÉDERM® Volux®, including:
- Improved facial volume: Restoring natural-looking volume to your skin can help you achieve a plumper and more balanced appearance.
- Fewer wrinkles: Adding volume beneath the skin can diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Balanced facial features: Addressing volume loss can improve facial harmony.
- Younger-looking skin: Reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines can reduce your perceived age and help you achieve a more youthful appearance.
- Natural-looking results: JUVÉDERM® Volux® is a flexible formula that moves fluidly with your facial movements to prevent a “frozen” look.
- Long-lasting results: You might enjoy results for 1-2 years with this filler.
Candidates
Patients must be 21 years or older to receive JUVÉDERM® injections. Candidates would typically like to:
- Improve their skin’s volume
- Balance their facial features
- Sculpt the jawline
- Address wrinkles and fine lines
You should have realistic expectations regarding your results and be in good overall health. JUVÉDERM® does contain lidocaine, so if you have a lidocaine allergy, we will recommend a different treatment to help you achieve your goals.
Consultation
The first step in your JUVÉDERM® Volux® injection treatment is scheduling a personal consultation. During this appointment, we will discuss your medical history and whether you have any medical conditions that could affect the result of your treatment. We will also discuss your appearance goals and examine your skin quality to determine the most effective treatment plan. Please come prepared with any questions you have to ensure that you are well-informed before receiving your injections.
Preparation
On the day of your appointment, you should arrive with clean skin for optimal results. You should also take the following steps:
- Schedule your treatment 2-3 weeks ahead of any important events
- Avoid taking blood-thinning medications or supplements
- Stop drinking alcohol for 24 hours before your treatment
We will also provide additional instructions based on your personalized treatment plan and medical history.
Treatment Process
During your appointment, we will cleanse your skin and administer the formula with a needle. JUVÉDERM® contains lidocaine for a comfortable treatment, and we can also apply a topical anesthetic if you have especially sensitive skin. The amount of filler we inject will depend on your aesthetic goals and the size of the treatment area.
Injections typically only take 15-20 minutes. Afterward, you can enjoy noticeable improvements without significant downtime or discomfort.
After Your Treatment
As a non-surgical treatment, JUVÉDERM® Volux® does not require any significant recovery time. Some patients may experience side effects such as swelling and/or redness at or around the injection site. During your initial consultation, we will discuss the risks and potential side effects of your treatment. Avoiding strenuous activities, facials, massages, and abrasive skin treatments for 1-2 weeks is typically advised.
Results

After JUVÉDERM®, you can enjoy beautiful, natural-looking volume. Balancing the face and enhancing your natural contours can help you improve your quality of life. If you take good care of your skin, you can enjoy results that last for several months, and we can help you maintain your results with a touch-up appointment.
Additional Treatments
Dermal fillers are often paired with other treatments, especially when patients have additional concerns they would like to address.
BOTOX®
BOTOX® is a neuromodulator that reduces repetitive muscle contractions that wear on the skin. The injectable limits the release of acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter that is responsible for muscle contractions. As the collagen and elastin–proteins in your skin that help it maintain its structure–decline, fine lines and wrinkles can begin to form. BOTOX® prevents them from forming, so you can enjoy smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Pairing BOTOX® with a dermal filler like JUVÉDERM® Volux® can help patients achieve more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is a treatment that accelerates collagen production with tiny needles that administer radiofrequency (RF) energy to diminish the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and mild skin laxity. With a small handpiece, we will administer the needles to the skin. We may recommend a series of treatments depending on your aesthetic goals. While JUVÉDERM® Volux® does add volume, it does not address superficial skin concerns. Pairing this treatment with Morpheus8 can help patients not only add volume but also improve the quality of their skin.

Yes, by adding volume to various parts of your face, JUVÉDERM® Volux® will enhance facial symmetry.
