Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that can improve the clarity, health, and firmness of your skin. Using a device fashioned with fine needles to stimulate the production of collagen—an essential protein for maintaining the firmness and health of the skin—this treatment can address various concerns, including pigmentation irregularities, facial scars, melasma, visible signs of aging, and more, all the while boosting your skin’s overall health. About Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as percutaneous collagen induction therapy, elevates the skin’s internal collagen levels, improving the skin’s texture and elasticity over time. This treatment can also enhance the absorption of topical serums, allowing you to address superficial and deeper concerns with ease. (2)
Benefits
Microneedling brings several notable benefits, including:
- Stimulated Collagen Production: Microneedling triggers natural collagen production. This can lead to healthier, clearer, and more elastic skin overall.
- Smoother Skin: Microneedling can soften rough patches of skin and uneven texturing, allowing you to achieve softer and smoother-feeling skin.
- Softened Signs of Aging: Your specialist can perform microneedling to address the appearance of facial wrinkles, lines, and creases to restore a more youthful-looking aesthetic.
- Reduced Facial Scars: Microneedling can help you reduce the appearance of any facial scars, allowing you to achieve smoother and more vibrant skin overall. (2)
- No Required Downtime: You can return to most of your daily activities immediately after treatment, allowing you to improve your skin with minimal disruptions to your routine.
- Improved Product Absorption: The micro-punctures that treatment creates can help your skin care products penetrate deeper into your skin, enhancing their effectiveness.
- Lasting Results: You will be able to enjoy the results of your treatment for months after your appointment.
- Non-Surgical Nature: Microneedling does not require the use of general anesthesia or linear incisions.
Candidates
You may be a candidate for microneedling if you are interested in improving the aesthetic appearance, texture, elasticity, or overall health of your skin. Microneedling can safely and effectively address all skin types and tones, meaning you are likely already eligible for this treatment.
Those who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, possess certain skin conditions, have extreme keloidal tendencies, or are immunosuppressed may not qualify.
Personal Consultation
The first step to transforming your skin is attending a personal consultation. During this meeting, your specialist will meet with you individually to determine the most effective techniques and treatment methods for your case. They will ask you several questions about your medical history, current prescriptions, skin concerns, and treatment goals. They will also perform a physical assessment to evaluate the condition and quality of your skin.
Your specialist will use this information to create a treatment plan that addresses each of your concerns. Throughout the consultation, they will also answer any questions you may have about your treatment or about skin rejuvenation in general.
To schedule this consultation and receive your custom treatment plan, please contact us online or call the office at (949) 993-5846.
Preparation
Your specialist will give you a set of personalized instructions in preparation for your microneedling treatment. These instructions may direct you to:
- Discontinue using any blood-thinning medications or supplements.
- Avoid using harsh or heavy skincare products that may irritate your skin.
- Arrive at your appointment with clean skin that is clear of any remaining makeup residue or skincare products.
- Remove any facial jewelry before your treatment.
While these instructions are fairly simple, following each one will facilitate a smooth recovery and the best possible results.
Procedure
A member of our team will cleanse and sanitize your skin at the beginning of your treatment, then they will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to create a more comfortable experience.
Your specialist will then use a small, handheld device featuring several rows of needles on the treatment area. They will pass the device over your skin to create small punctures on its surface, stimulating the production of collagen. Your specialist will repeat these passing motions until they address the entire treatment area. They will then apply an ointment or cream to help calm your skin and enhance your recovery.
Recovery
You will be able to return to most of your daily activities immediately after your treatment, as microneedling does not require significant downtime. It is common to experience some swelling, redness, or flaking in the treated areas in the days following your appointment. These effects are temporary and will subside on their own, but you may also manage them using a gentle moisturizer.
You will need to avoid wearing makeup and using harsh skincare products for 24-48 hours after your treatment. You will also need to protect your skin with sunblock when leaving the house, although it is best to avoid direct or excessive sun exposure altogether. You should also drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized.
Your specialist will provide more detailed recovery instructions in person. These instructions will help you manage any temporary side effects and help you care for your skin as it heals.
Results
The results of your microneedling treatment will become more noticeable as your skin’s internal collagen levels rise over time. You will be able to enjoy smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin as your facial scars, pigmentation irregularities, signs of aging, and other aesthetic concerns reduce and soften. Your skin may also feel firmer and tighter, and you may enjoy a more youthful-looking appearance overall.
The results of your microneedling treatment can take between 3 and 6 months to fully develop, with most patients experiencing their ideal results after receiving a series of regular treatments. However, you will be able to notice significant improvements after just one appointment.

Acne Packages
If you are struggling with your acne, your specialist may combine your microneedling treatment with one of our acne packages to help clear and brighten your skin. Our acne packages combine different skin rejuvenation treatments that target blemishes, pimples, and facial scars to restore the health and appearance of your skin. Our team of specialists fully personalizes each acne package according to each individual’s concerns and skin type, and they may include a combination of any of the following treatments:
- Agnes RFHI: This treatment combines radiofrequency (RF) energy and microneedling to resurface the skin. Add 17Medspa, we can include hyaluronic acid fillers with this treatment, injecting them to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines.
- Secret RF: Secret RF emits heat to promote collagen production and address imperfections deep within the skin.
- Platinum PTT: The Platinum PTT Regenerating Ampoule can target acne-prone skin and enlarged pores, allowing you to restore a more radiant complexion.
