Is bruising after Botox okay?
Bruising following a Botox injection is a common occurrence, although not everyone experiences it. Bruising can result from the puncturing of small blood vessels during the injection process, and even a minor vessel can lead to visible bruising. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a zero percent chance of bruising. If you have significant events coming up (such as a wedding or photo shoot), we highly recommend scheduling your appointment at least four weeks in advance. Typically, any bruising is mild and resolves within a few days. To minimize the risk of bruising, it’s advisable to avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and vitamin E, prior to your treatment. After the procedure, applying a cold compress or Arnica gel can help reduce swelling. If bruising persists longer than expected or raises any concerns, please consult your practitioner.
How do Botox and fillers differ?
Botox and fillers serve different purposes. Botox is used to relax muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet and frown lines, while fillers add volume to areas like lips and cheeks, or fill in deep lines and creases. Both treatments provide a rejuvenated, youthful appearance but address different concerns.
What are a few things to keep in mind after Botox injection?
Avoid Lying Down: Don’t lie down for at least 4 hours after treatment. This helps prevent the Botox from moving to unintended areas.
No Rubbing or Touching: Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas for 72 hours to prevent Botox from shifting.
Avoid Exercise: Refrain from strenuous physical activity for 24 hours after your treatment. Exercise increases blood flow, which could cause the Botox to spread or reduce its effectiveness.
Stay Upright: Keep your head elevated and avoid bending over for long periods within the first 4 hours to ensure the Botox settles properly.
Avoid Heat Exposure: Skip hot baths, saunas, or tanning beds for 24-48 hours, as heat can increase the risk of bruising and cause Botox to break down faster.
No Alcohol or Blood Thinners: Avoid consuming alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen) for 24 hours as these can increase the likelihood of bruising.
Be Patient with Results
How long should I wait for facials after Botox and fillers?
After Botox and filler injections, we advise you wait at least two weeks for the injections to settle.
What can I expect from a Fotona4D treatment?
Fotona4D is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to rejuvenate the skin both externally and from within. It targets wrinkles, tightens skin, and stimulates collagen production. The treatment works on all skin
layers and provides a comprehensive facial rejuvenation without downtime.
How is Morpheus8 RF different from other treatments?
Morpheus8 RF combines microneedling with radiofrequency technology to remodel deeper layers of skin and fat. It is effective for improving skin texture, reducing scars, and tightening sagging areas. This treatment is unique because it penetrates deeper than traditional microneedling, offering significant improvements in skin laxity.
What is InMode MiniFX and BodyFX, and who is it for?
InMode MiniFX and BodyFX is a non-surgical face or body contouring treatment that reducesathe appearance of fat and cellulite. MiniFX uses radiofrequency energy and a vacuum-assisted system to target and reduce stubborn fat pockets while improving skin elasticity. It is ideal for clients looking to contour smaller areas like the arms, neck, and under the chin. BodyFX is ideal for clients looking to contour larger areas like the buttocks, abdomen, arms, and thighs.
Is Body Contouring safe, and how long does it take to see results?
Non-surgical body contouring treatments like those we offer are safe and FDA-cleared. Depending on the technology used, such as radiofrequency or ultrasound, results can be seen in as little as 4-6 weeks, with optimal results after multiple sessions. There is no downtime, and most clients resume their daily activities right after treatment.
Am I too young to start Botox?
We have clients as young as 20 years old, particularly those seeking facial shaping in the masseter area or relief from muscle tension associated with TMJ pain. Botox can be an effective solution for preventing early signs of wrinkles caused by excessive muscle movement. If you have concerns regarding your age, medical history, or any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the nearest branch for a complimentary consultation!
What acne treatments do you offer, and how do they work?
We offer several acne treatments tailored to each client’s skin type and concerns, including laser therapy, chemical peels, and medical-grade facials. These treatments reduce inflammation, clear clogged pores, and improve overall skin texture while preventing future breakouts.
What is cryo-therapy?
Cryotherapy, or cryo-therapy, is a treatment that exposes your skin to extremely cold temperatures for therapeutic benefits. One of our primary cryotherapy skin rejuvenation treatments is Glacial Skin, which utilizes R2 cryo-modulation technology to maintain a freezing temperature throughout the entire session.
Using the Glacial Skin device offers several advantages, including:
Reducing Skin Inflammation: This treatment is particularly beneficial for clients experiencing secondary skin issues related to stress and inflammation, such as acne, eczema, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, dermatitis, dryness and dehydration, sensitivity, premature aging, hives, keratosis pilaris, and psoriasis.
What is Ultherapy Prime, and how does it work?
Ultherapy Prime is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to lift and tighten the skin on the face, neck, and décolletage. It stimulates collagen production, resulting in natural, gradual tightening over time. Most clients notice improvements 3 months after treatment. This is considered one of our marathon treatments that will gradually give you the results over the course of months, starting as early as 3rd month to 9 months post-op.
What is the difference between Ultherapy and Ultherapy Prime?
Ultherapy Prime is the newer, upgraded version of the regular Ultherapy. Both devices use the same ultrasound technology. Ultherapy Prime’s key benefits are:
1. Shorter treatment time
2. Less discomfort
My face got larger and swollen after Ultherapy. Is this normal?
It’s not uncommon to experience some swelling or a feeling of fullness in the treated area after Ultherapy. The appearance of swolleness will gradually fade over time.
I heard Ultherapy can give you unwanted fat loss. Is that true?
Ultherapy uses deep ultrasound energy that reaches the muscle layer, and while there is a rare potential risk of unwanted fat loss, this outcome is extremely uncommon. We carefully customize each treatment using a variety of authentic transducers and rely on the expertise of our highly experienced providers. In certain cases, a slight reduction in fat may be desirable, especially in areas like the jawline or under the chin, as it enhances contour and definition. Since everyone’s goals are unique, we offer a complimentary consultation to ensure your treatment aligns perfectly with your desired outcome.
How many Ultherapy treatments do you guys do?
17MedSpa is one of the top authentic Ultherapy providers in California. We practice more than 1000 Ultherapy treatments annually.
What is Sofwave, and how does it work?
Sofwave is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses high-frequency ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. It is designed to address fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin, offering a smoother, younger-looking appearance without downtime. It works by delivering ultrasound energy to the mid-dermal layer of the skin, promoting collagen regeneration.
Is SofWave FDA cleared?
Yes! Sofwave is FDA cleared for 7 different areas of the body. It is a very non-invasive, safe treatment with no downtime for those who are seeking overall improvements of the skin and laxity.
Is Sofwave safe for all skin types?
Yes, Sofwave is safe and effective for all skin types and tones. Unlike laser-based treamtnets that can sometimes cause hyperpigmentation on darker skin tones, Sofwave’s ultrasound technology targets deeper skin layers, leaving the surface unaffected, which makes it suitable for everyone.
What is the main difference between Ultherapy and Sofwave?
There are a few differences between Ultherapy and Sofwave. But one of the main differences between the two devices are treatment depth.
Ultherapy penetrates deeper (up to 4.5 mm), which is why it’s effective for more significant lifting, shaping and tightening, especially for sagging skin.
Sofwave works at a shallower depth (approximately 1.5 mm), focusing on the superficial layers of the skin, which makes it better for addressing surface-level concerns like fine lines, acne scars, overall skin laxity rather than deep sagging.
What are some of the pain control methods used in 17MedSpa?a

How long do results from Laser Hair Removal last?
After completing the recommended series of sessions, most clients experience long-term hair reduction. While Laser Hair Removal significantly reduces hair growth, some hair may regrow over time, though it tends to be finer and lighter. Occasional maintenance treatments may be needed to maintain results.
Are Salmon DNA injection and Salmon Sperm facials the same thing?
Salmon DNA (PDRN) Injection:
● Salmon DNA injection is a skin rejuvenation treatment that involves injecting a formulation containing polynucleotides derived from salmon DNA. These injections aim to promote skin healing, improve elasticity, and hydrate the skin by stimulating collagen production and cell regeneration. Rejuran is often used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, rebuilding skin barrier and overall skin texture.
Salmon Sperm Facial:
● This term typically refers to a facial treatment that uses salmon DNA extract or salmon sperm extract as a key ingredient in skincare products. These facials can provide similar benefits as Rejuran injections, such as improving skin hydration and promoting cell regeneration, but they do so through topical application rather than injections.
Do you actually use real gold for Gold Therapy Facial?
Yes. We use 24K real gold for our Gold Therapy Facial. Gold is beneficial for brightening, luxurious glow, and detoxing your skin!
How long will my fillers last?
The longevity of dermal fillers depends on several factors, including the type of filler, the treatment area, and the individual’s metabolic rate. Fillers placed in areas with frequent movement, such as smile lines, lips or the chin, may not last as long as those applied to regions with less muscle activity. To enhance and prolong the results, we recommend considering Botox injections in the treated area (where applicable) to relax the muscles, which can help maintain the filler’s effects for a longer period.
I’ve been completely bald around the top of my head for 30 years, will your Hair Regeneration treatment be effective?
The longer the duration of baldness, the less likely it is that Hair Regeneration treatments will yield significant results. Treatments are typically more effective in areas where there is still some hair growth. Our treatment options for hair regeneration can include PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma), Exosome, Fotona Hair-Restart, and LED Light Therapy. A thorough free consultation can help assess your specific situation and determine the best approach for your hair restoration goal. Our hair regeneration therapy treatment plans have been working great, especially people who have been losing hair due to aging, genetics, and pregnancy.
Is it true that vegans would have less results from the same skin rejuvenation treatments compared to meat-eaters?
The results of skin rejuvenation treatments can vary from person to person, and while your diet can play a part in skin health, it’s not just about being vegan or a meat-eater! Here are some things to keep in mind:
● Nutritional Factors: What you eat affects your skin and how it heals. Meat-eaters might find it easier to get nutrients like vitamin B12, omega-3s, and protein, which are important for skin repair. Vegans can still get these through plant-based foods or supplements but might need to pay a bit more attention to their overall nutrient intake.
● Skin Health: A balanced diet full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healthy fats—whether from plants or animals—can boost skin glow and help improve the results of treatments. Both vegans and meat-eaters can achieve great skin if they eat well!
● Individual Variability: The outcome The outcome of skin treatments depends on many factors, like your genetics, skin type, age, and overall health, not just your diet.
Everyone’s skin is different, and good nutrition—whether vegan or not—supports healthy, glowing skin!
